OVER THE LAST FEW YEARS
FRISCO'S POPULATION HAS GROWN 500%
FROM 30,000 SOULS TO 150,000 SOULS
23,000 OF THEM NEVER
OR SELDOM ATTEND CHURCH
51,000 OTHERS ATTEND CHURCH
A FEW TIMES A YEAR OR LESS
BUT MOST STUNNINGLY
YOU'RE TWICE AS LIKELY TO FIND AN 18-29 YEAR OLD
IN A GROUP OF PEOPLE WITH NO RELIGIOUS AFFILIATION
THAN IN A GROUP OF CHRISTIANS
BUT IT DOESN'T HAVE TO BE THIS WAY...
He’s served in ministry roles of all kinds in the years since, most recently as the Pastor of a historic church in Chicagoland that he led through the process of revitalization.
Through his ministry in established churches Grant saw all too clearly how difficult it can be for people far from God to experience Him in a traditional church setting. He saw firsthand the startling disconnect between the unfathomable beauty of God and the perceived ugliness of His Church, especially among his generation. Through these experiences God has placed a burden on Grant’s heart to see those far from God but turned off to the church experience the same hope and transforming power that he once did at that prayer meeting.
A NEW CHAPTER
While the change that seriously pursing it would mean terrified him, those words started him on a journey to explore what starting a new church might look like.
In April 2016, just before the birth of their son Rory, Grant and his wife Kayli got an in depth look at church planting through a nationally recognized church planter assessment center experience. The assessment center is an intensive four day event to evaluate possible church planters. At the end of the week they were unanimously recommended to continue to take steps to pursue the call of God on their lives to plant a new and life giving church.
As they fasted and prayed about where God wanted them to start this new church they were both drawn to Frisco for the amazing growth that just keeps happening, their experience in the DFW area (Grant grew up there), and the fertile environment it provides to not just plant a church, but to start a movement.
WHERE WE'RE GOING
We don’t use that word movement lightly. We believe that as the third fastest growing city in America last year and the home to Toyota, Jamba Juice, and now the most valuable sports franchise in the world, Frisco is a city of influence. But the question we can't stop asking, is in the end what's it all worth?
Sure business is booming, the schools are great, and the city keeps growing. But if the people haven’t experienced the lifted life that Christ alone provides, what’s it all worth in the end?
Our dream is that Frisco would be a city known not just for its incredible business and family environments, but its incredible spiritual one as well. We want to be a church that lifts the entire city, to birth a revival and movement of multiplying churches in the North Dallas area and beyond. To learn more about how we’re going to get there just click “The Vision” up top.
